My yoga journey started with Transcendental Meditation in 2006 which opened up my mind to Quigong, Tai Chi, concentrated breathing techniques, physical yoga practice and the study of the Sanskrit language at the Himalayan Institute. I was unaware of what the next ten years of Yoga would be like. As a full time college student and working retail full time, I made the time to try multiple traditions and modalities of yoga, making Ashtanga my daily practice. However, hot yoga has resonated with me, helping to heal many ailments and injuries including daily pain from working in a non ergonomically designed environment. This inspired me to deepen my yoga practice by studying the hot practice and it's therapeutic benefits, making the 26 and 2 sequence my first teaching certification. Yoga has snowballed for me since then, I received my certification in Family and Community Yoga from Rainbow Kids Yoga as well as Partner Acrobatics from Rainbow Kids Partner Yoga, joining together the intensity I craved in the hot class with restorative therapeutics offered in Thai Massage. I also studied Aerial Yoga and antigravity suspension with silk hammocks as well as Iyengar's Great Wall Yoga offered at the Osteopathic Wellness Center. My main focus is to bring mindful moving meditation to schools. I teach in many schools and early childhood education centers as well as special needs services such as Autism Services Inc. Other side projects include collaborating with Mindfulness Education to spread awareness and educate education specialists in mindfulness techniques. Also, I am working with UP Fitness Buffalo to create a family friendly circus fitness facility in the Elmwood Villiage. I enjoy sharing yoga with my family, including my 3 year old mini yogi!
